Switching Factors- Easy to switch if you have an existing fossil fuel boiler
Incentive
- Tariff for 15 years
Commercial heat pumps
Heat requirement
Suitable for medium and low temperatures
Characteristics
- 100% electric heat that's great for direct hot water and space heating
- High upfront costs
Space needed
- Vary depending on type of heat pump and capacity
- No onsite fuel space required
Switching factors- Some older radiators may struggle to work efficiently at 65°C and will need to be upgraded
Incentive
- Support for 40% of purchase and installation costs
Biogas boilers
Heat requirement
Suitable for medium and high temperatures
Characteristics
- Very similar to a standard gas boiler
- Can be used to create transport fuel
Space needed
- Similar in size to a standard boiler
- If you create your own gas, extra space is needed
Switching Factors- Easy to switch if you have an existing fossil fuel boiler
